Given,

=> Ar(BED) = 1/2 Ar(ABD)
or,

=> 2 Ar(BED) = Ar(ABD)
Now,

=> Ar(ABD) = 1/2 Ar(ABC)

=> 2 x Ar(BED) = 1/2 Ar(ABC)

=> Ar(BED) = 1/4 Ar(ABC)

=> Ar(BED) = 1/4 x 32 cm^2

=> Ar(BED) = 8 cm^2
