Answer: 480 rupees

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the wage every hour be x and the number of hours worked by him every week be y.

Now,

xy = every week wage = 500

We have been given that in 7 days his work hours (y) are reduced by 20%

new work hours = y - y/5 = 4y/5 --(eq1)

xy = wage per week.

If wage per day increases by 20% then, wage per week will also increase by 20%

New wage per week = xy + xy/5 = 6xy/5 ----- (eq2)

From (eq1) we can say that new number of work hours = 4y/5

Replacing y by 4y/5 in equation 2 we get,

New salary per week = (6x/5)*(4y/5)

= 24xy/25 = 480 [xy = 500]

I know my answer is long and there may be even better solution but my solution gave us the correct answer which is 480 so you can accept it if you want. (yes, 480 is the correct answer which maybe you know it too). And if you have any query then ask me in comments or message me.
