Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If a : b = c : d are in proportion then a/b = c/d

i.e ad = bc

Product of extremes = Product of means

6 : 8 : x : 25

8x = 150

x = 150 ÷ 8

x = 75/4

★ Given :-

  • First Term = 6
  • Second Term = 8
  • Fourth Term = 25

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To Find :-

  • Third Term = ?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Solution :-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here, it is given that, First , Second & Fourth terms of the Proportion are 6 , 8 & 25 . And, we have to find the Third Term .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Now, let's solve step by step -----

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Let, the Third Term be "x" .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • According to the question :-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\dashrightarrow\sf{6  \: : \:  8 \:  :  :  \: x \:  :  \: 25} \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \:  \sf{ \frac{6}{8} =  \frac{x}{25}  } \\  \\   \because  \:  \sf \pmb{By  \: doing  \: Cross  \: Multiplication :-} \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \:  \sf{x \times 8 = 6 \times 25} \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \:  \sf{x =  \frac{6 \times 25}{8} } \\  \\  \dashrightarrow  \:  \sf{x =  \frac{150}{8} } \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \:  \sf{x = \frac{75}{4}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hence :-

  • Third Term = \large\sf{\frac{75}{4}}
