2. The gas we use in the kitchen is called liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). In the cylinder it exists as a liquid. When it comes out from the cylinder it becomes a
gas (Change--A) then it burns (Change-B). The following statements pertain to these changes. Choose the correct one with proper reason -
(i) Process - A is a chemical change.
(ii) Process --B is a chemical change.
(iii) Both processes A and B are chemical changes.
(iv) None of these processes is a chemical change.

Answer: Option 'b' is a chemical change

Explanation:

It is because when LPG changes from liquid to gas it only changes it's physical form but when it is burnt the following reaction takes place :- C3H8 + 5O2 = 3CO2 + 4H2O

As you can see a chemical reaction has taken place so burning is a chemical change.
