Here,

HCF of two numbers = 7

LCM of two numbers = 42

One of the number 14

We know that,

★ LCM × HCF = product of two numbers

Therefore, Putting values,

➯ 7 × 42 = 14 × second number

➯ 294 = 14 × second number

➯ second number = 294/14

➯ second number = 21

∴ The other number is 21.

2) The product of two numbers is 950. Their LCM is 38. Find their HCF.

Here,

Product of two number = 950

LCM of two numbers = 38

Again,

★ LCM × HCF = product of two numbers

➯ HCF = 25

∴ The HCF of two numbers is 25.
