Answer:

Marked Price=176, Selling Price =165

Discount=M.PM.P−S.P

176176−165=0.0625 or 6.25%

∴ discount percent is 6.25%

★ SOLUTION

Given that : —

Marked price (Cost price) = ₹176

Selling Price = ₹165

Since, CP > SP

Therefore, there is loss.

Loss = CP – SP

= 176 – 165

= ₹ 11

This loss of ₹11 is the discount to the buyer.

So ,

Discount = ₹ 11

Now, we have to find discount %

[ Formula for calculating discount % ↓]

 \implies \:  discount  \:  \% =  \\  (\frac{discount}{marked \: price(cp)}  \times 100) \: \%

Now , substituting the values we get,

 \implies \: ( \frac{11}{176}  \times 100) \: \% \\  \\  \implies \: (\frac{1}{16}  \times 100) \: \% \\  \\  \implies \:  \frac{25}{4}  \: \% \\  \\  \implies \: 6.25 \: \%

Hence, Discount % = 6.25 %
