Answer:

the fraction is 17/25

Step-by-step explanation:

let x and y be the numerator and denominator of the fraction resply.,

given, x = y-8

and     (x+3)/y = 4/5    (check your question)

          ie., x+3 = 4y/5

=>              x = (4y/5) - 3

=>         y - 8 = (4y/5) - 3

=>         y - 8 = (4y-15) / 5

=>     5(y - 8) = 4y-15

=>     5y - 40 = 4y-15

=>     5y - 4y = 40-15

=>              y = 25

put the value of y=25 in x = y-8

ie., x = 25-8

   => x = 17

so, the fraction is 17/25
