Given:

  • The parallel sides of a trapezium are 10 m and 20 m
  • The distance between the parallels is 8 m (i.e altitude or height)

To find:

  • The area of the trapezium

The formula to find the area of the trapezium when two parallel sides and the distance between them is given.

\boxed{\bf{\frac{1}{2}\times (sum\ of\ parallel\ sides) \times height}}

So,

Area = \frac{1}{2} \times (10+20) \times 8

Area = 30*4

Area = 120 m sq.

Hence,

  • The area of the trapezium is 120 m sq.

★ This question says that the parallel sides of a trapizum are 10 m and 20 m, and the distance between them is 8 m. We have to find the area of the trapizum..!

{\large{\bold{\rm{\underline{Given \; that}}}}}

{\sf{:\implies Parallel \: sides \: of \:  trapizum \: = 10 \: m \: and \: 20 \: m}}

{\sf{:\implies Distance \: between \: them \: = \: 18 \: metres}}

{\large{\bold{\rm{\underline{To \; find}}}}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum}}

{\large{\bold{\rm{\underline{Solution}}}}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: 120 \: m^{2}}}

{\large{\bold{\rm{\underline{Using \; concept}}}}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: formula}}

{\large{\bold{\rm{\underline{Using \; formula}}}}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \times Sum \: of \: parallel \: side \times height}}

{\large{\bold{\rm{\underline{Full \; Solution}}}}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \times Sum \: of \: parallel \: side \times height}}

{\large{\bold{\rm{\underline{Here,}}}}}

★ Area have to find

★ ½ means half

★ Sum of parallel sides ( 10 + 20 )

★ Height (Distance between them means 8 metres)

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \times (10+20) \times 8}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \times 30 \times 8}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \times 240}}

{\sf{:\implies Area \: of \: trapizum \: = \: 120 \: m^{2}}}

{\small{\boxed{\bold{Henceforth, \: area \: of \: trapizum \: = \: 120 \: m^{2}}}}}
