(i) Population after two years 36300×110%×110%

= 36300×[110/100]×[110/100]

=36300×1.1×1.1

= 43923

(ii) Population before two years

36300×90%×90%

=36300×[90/100][90/100]

=36300×0.9×0.9

=290403

Answer:population after 2year =P(1+r/100) ^2

36300×(1+10/100) ^2

36300×11/10×11/10

36300×121/100

=43923 answer

Population 2 years ago = P/(1+r/100) ^2

36300/(1+10/100)

36300×10/11×10/11

36300×100/121

=30000

Hence the population of a town 2years ago = 30000 answer
