x and x+1 be the two consecutive numbers

Step-by-step explanation:

a/q

x(x+1) = x2 + (x+1)2 -31

x2+x = x2 + x2 + 2x + 2 -31

x-2x = x2 -2

-x = x2 -2

x2+x-2 = 0

x2 + 2x -x -2 = 0

x(x+2)-1(x+2) = 0

(x-1)(x+2) = 0

x=1 , x=-2

So the numbers are are 1 and 2

I hope this will help u....if there is any problem ...comment
