Let the ages of A and B are 4x and 5x yr, respectively.
According to the question

4x+45x+4=14174x+45x+4=1417

68x + 68 = 70x + 56

2x = 12 = > x = 6

Hence, present age of B = 5 x 6 = 30 yr

Let's the common factor of present ages be x .

Then, the present ages of A and B be 4x and 5x respectively.

After, four years the ages of A&B shall become,4x+4 and 5x+4 respectively,

According to given , the ratio of ages of A and B is 14:17,

So,4x+4/5x+4 =14/17

68x+68=70x+56

70x-68x =68-56

2x=12

X=12/2

=6

Therefore, B's present is 5x =5❌6

=30years.

Thank you!
