The response of olfactory indicator(onion)

in basic medium is A) odour changes

Olfactory indicators are the substances that produce characteristic smell depending the on the acidity or basicity of medium, in which they are introduced.

Addition of base with onion, destroys it's characteristic smell. On the other hand, addition of acid with onion, does not changes it's odour.

Vanilla extract and clove oil are few other examples of olfactory indicators.
