Answer:

25 cm and 20 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the sides be 5x and 4x

Now, ATQ,

2(5x+4x) = 90

=> 2(9x) = 90

=> 9x = 45

=> x = 5

Now sides are,

4(5) cm and 5(5)

=> 20 cm and 25 cm

Hope this helps you

To find : length and breadth of rectangle .

Given :  sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 5 : 4 and its perimeter is 90 cm.

Solution :

  • According to question we are given that sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 5 : 4 and its perimeter is 90 cm . We have to find  length and breadth of rectangle .
  • Let , 5x and 4x be the length and breadth of rectangle .
  • To find length and breadth  we use following formula -
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )
  • Substituting the values we get,

       90 = 2 (5x + 4x )\\90 = 2 (9x)\\18x = 90 \\x = 5

  • Now ,substituting the value of x to find length and breadth .
  • Therefore , length = 5x  =5\times 5 =25\ cm

                          breadth = 4x = 4\times 5 = 20\ cm

Hence, length and breadth of rectangle are 25\ cm and 20\ cm respectively .
