 \bf \: x + 3y = 6

Trial and error method :

a) (0,2)

x=0 & y=2

Substituting in the given equation ;

lhs = (0) + 3 \times (2) \\  = 6 = rhs \:  \:  \:  \\  \\ (a )\:  \: is \:  \: the \:  \: answer. \\  \\

b) (2,0)

x=2 & b=0

Substituting;

 \\ lhs = (2) + 3(0) \\  = 2 + 3 \:  \:  \\  = 5 \: ≠ \: rhs \\  \\ (b) \:  \: cannot \:  \: be \:  \: the \:  \: answer. \\  \\

c) (3,2)

x=3 & b=2

 \\ lhs = 3 + 3(2) \\  = 3 + 6 \\  = 9≠rhs \\  \\ (c) \:  \: cannot \:  \: be \:  \: the \: \: answer. \\  \\
