• The Habit Burger Grill is a fast-casual restaurant concept owned by the company that specialises in chargrilled burgers, sandwiches, and other items created to order. Yum! Brands was rated among Newsweek's list of America's Most Responsible Companies in 2021 and added to the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index.
• Since the immunisation campaign began, this is the most doses that have been given in a single day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted about breaking the record and thanked every single person in the nation. Five Indian states—Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Haryana—took the lead by organising unique immunisation efforts, according to the Union Health Ministry.
• As part of new relaxation measures announced by the state government on Wednesday, hotels, restaurants, and malls can operate in Maharashtra till 10 p.m. starting on August 15.

• Only those with all necessary vaccinations will be permitted entry into malls. Places of worship, auditoriums, and movie theatres will all be closed.

• From August 3, the state had permitted the opening of malls in 25 districts.
• Mumbai's malls were closed, but retailers were permitted to stay open till 10 p.m. Mumbai restaurants were also prohibited from serving dine-in patrons after 4 p.m.

• Associations representing hotels and restaurants opposed the government's decision on August 3, compelling it to reconsider.

• On Tuesday, the state cabinet made the decision to remove additional limits from the health task force's recommendations.

• However, certain riders are being introduced along with the relaxations. Restaurants will be required to abide by social distancing rules and be permitted to operate at 50% capacity until 10 p.m., according to health minister Rajesh Tope. Restaurants that want to stay open past 10 p.m. will also need to properly immunise all of their staff members, or risk consequences.
