ii)Acceleration acting on the cycle between A and B

iii)Acceleration acting on the cycle between B and C

iv) Displacement of the body from B to D

Solution

Velocity of cycle at point C = 40 km/hr

Acceleration acting on the cycle between A and B

acceleration = dv/dt

=(40-20)/(3-0)

= 20/3

= 6.67 km/hr

iii)Acceleration acting on the cycle between B and C

= (40 -40)/÷6-3)

= 0

Displacement of the body from B to D

area under graph from B to D

= (1/2)(3 + 5) × 40

= 160 km
