2. The velocity-time graph of a hard ball of mass 100g moving along a
straight line along a concrete track is given below. Calculate
(a) the acceleration
(b) force exerted by the track to bring the ball to rest.

from Graph it is very clear that

Velocity at t = 0 sec is 12 m /s

Velocity at t = 10 sec is 0 m/s

acceleration = (0 - 12)/(10 - 0)

= -12/10

= -1.2 m/s²

acceleration = -1.2 m/s²

Force = mass & acceleration

Mass = 100g = 0.1 kg

=> Force = 0.1  * 1.2  = 0.12 N

force exerted by the track to bring the ball to rest = 0.12 N
