Given : Tower about 138 feet (42 metres) in height.   ( missing Info added)

They want to see the tower at an angle of 60°

To Find :   distance  they should stand

Solution:

Height of Tower  =  42 m

distance  they should stand  = x m

Angle of elevation = 60°

Tan 60°   = Height of Tower  / distance  they should stand

=> √3 = 42/x

=> x  =  42/√3

=> x = 14√3 m

=> x = 14 * 1.732

=> x = 24.248 m

they should stand  at  24.248 m  Distance
