2 times a number is the 100% increase in number. if we take half the number what would be the decrease in percent?

Let original number be 100.

Then twice number is 200 giving increase of ((200-100)/100)×100= +100%

Half the number is 50. So decrease in percent = ( | 50-100 | ÷ 100) × 100 = 50% decrease = -50%.
