(2) Two cross roads, each of width 5 m. run at right angles through the
centre of a rectangular park of length 80 m and breadth 40 m and
parallel to its sides. Find the area of the roads. Also find the cost of
levelling the roads at the rate of rupees 50 per m2​

Answer:

  1. area of rectangle = L×B

= (40 ×80)cm

=3200 cm square

2. measure of road = 40×5(breath)

200

= 80×5( length)

= 200+ 400

3. common to both the part= (5×5=25)

4. area of road = 600-25

=575 cm square

cost of leveling = 50 × 575

= 2875 rupees
