Let the Ratio of the numbers be 5x and 3x respectively.

According to the question,

5x - 3x = 18

2x = 18

x = 18 ÷ 2

x = 9

5x = 5(9) = 45

3x = 3(9)=27

Therefore, the numbers are 45 and 27 respectively.

Hope it helps! :)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the required numbers be 5x and 3x respectively.

5x - 3x = 18

=> 2x = 18

Hence, x = 18/2 = 9

Greater number = 5(9) = 45

Smaller number = 3(9) = 27

Answer) Hence, the numbers are 45 and 27.
