agricultural practices make use of large amount of synthetic fertilizers and other nonbiodegradable substances like insecticides. These pollute the soil to a large extent and later on pollutes the water sources like river or lakes upon mixing.
Also it leads to large scale deforestation (for cultivation purpose and for grazing animals). Deforestation leads to climate change. plants and trees absorb CO2 from air but with decrease in numbers of trees, CO2 in the atmosphere increases.
