❣ There are four types of sentences:-

  • Declarative sentence - This type of sentence simply makes a statement or expresses an opinion. It ends with a period.
  • Example - My friend is a good writer.
  • Imperative sentence - This type of sentence gives a command or makes a request. It can either end with a period (or at times) with an exclamation mark.
  • Example - Sit down.
  • Interrogative sentence - An interrogative sentence asks a question. The sentence often begins with who, what, where, when, why, how, or do, and it ends with a question mark.
  • Example - Are you ready to go?
  • Exclamatory sentence - This type expresses great emotion such as excitement, surprise, happiness and anger, and ends with an exclamation point.
  • Example - It's a baby girl !
