Advantages :

1) Magnets are used electrical generators for generating electricity and it is also used in electric motors for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy.

2) It is also used in speakers, electric bells, maglev trains, TV and computer screens, telephones, refrigerators etc.

Disadvantages :

1) It is restricted to ferromagnetic materials - usually iron and steel, and cannot be used on austenitic stainless steel.

2) It is messy.
