History- It's hard to make peace with someone when you learn about the conflicts that you fought in the past. (Israel/The muslim world)
Propaganda- How can you make peace with someone when you're being told they hate you and want you dead? (North Korea, Iran)
The Media- After the 9/11 attacks there were people all over the muslim world praying for America and expressing their heartfelt sorrow at it's loss. But they didn't get the coverage that a few zealous individuals firing their guns in the air with joy got. The media feeds on division and loves presenting it whenever possible (The Western World)
