Reproduction :

Reproduction is an important process in plants and animals for the continuation of the species. It is a natural tendency by which each organism produces copy of it's own kind.

Example :- Neem tree gives rise to neem plants, lion gives birth to Cubs, ect.

Types :- Reproduction in plants occurs by two modes namely :

  1. Asexual Reproduction
  2. Sexual Reproduction

Asexual Reproduction :-

  • Asexual Reproduction is a process by which the animal or plant does involve in the fusion of gametes while Reproduction. This kind of reproduction takes place in lower organisms like bacteria, chalmydomonas, some fungi like rhizopus, pteridophytes like selaginella, ect.

Sexual Reproduction :

  • Sexual Reproduction is defined as the union of male and female gametes. In Angiosperm plants, the sexual Reproduction is possible by the production of flowers.
