Explanation:

Given,

Distance-time graph is parallel to time axis.

first understand this,

this graph is trying to tell you that for each and every interval of time your distance remains the same from the origin. Now think when will your distance remains the same.

If you are confused let us take an example:

Suppose at time, t=0 s: when no one was observing you were standing at point A. Now time comes and start observing you. He observes that after t= 10 s, you are still standing at A. what you can say?

#1. the person may have taken a walk and return to point A, but in this case there will be some distance he will cover, so, the graph of distance-time will not be a parallel line to x axis.

#2. The person has not even moved. He is in rest. So, he hasn't covered any distance. Hence the distance-time graph will be parallel to x axis.
