The poet compares the daffodils with the waves as he can't count the wideness of waves in the similar way to daffodils. the daffodils were widely spreaded and the poet can't see the ending boundary of them. He was also happy to see the dance of daffodils as they were dancing like the beautiful water waves.

The daffodils were golden in color, and their waving in the breeze seemed like the stars were shining and twinkling. These similarities have urged the poet to compare them.
