The thing I’d really like to learn is the skill of face-to-face negotiation.
I do a lot of research in my work and learn many new things every day. And, I’ve been negotiating my contracts for years. But, I nearly always do it by messaging online or email. My husband did all our negotiations for personal business until he passed away two years ago. Now, it’s up to me.
And, it really is different doing it face to face. The timing is different, for one thing. And, if they hesitate, you can see it and it can spook you if you let it. This is a skill I’ll be working on for a long time before I really get it down, I think.
