Our stomach releases some amount of HCl for the purpose of digestion. But sometimes the amount of acid released increases more than the required level. This condition is known as hyperacidity. it leads to irritation and pain in patients.

The remedy to cure this is to neutralize the effect of excess of acid. this can be done by consuming mild bases I.e. antacids like milk of magnesia.
