* When metal carbonates reacts with acids it produces salt ,carbon dioxide , hydrogen gas and water.

Na2CO3 +HCl >2NaCl +CO2 +H2O + H2

i.e

Sodium carbonate reacts with hydrochloric acid to give Sodium chloride salt and carbon dioxide gas , hydrogen gas and water vapours.

*When metal hydrogencarbonates reacts with acids it produces salt ,carbon dioxide, hydrogen gas and water vapours.

NaHCO3 + HCl > NaCl +CO2 + H2 + H2O

i.e

sodium hydrogencarbonate reacts with hydrochloric acid to give sodium chloride salt and carbon dioxide , hydrogen gas and water vapour.
