Stomata

There are Small Opening on the lower surface of the leave these pores are called stomata these opening are surrounded by guard cell

Function of Stomata

  • It helps in the transpiration of water i.e the loss of excess water from the plant
  • Loss of water from the stomata create an upward pull i.e Suction pull which help in absorption of water from the root
  • Stomata are responsible for the interchange of gases for respiration and Photosynthesis
  • The Stomata allow for the loss of excess water in the form of water vapour , which also allows cooling
