One of the best ways is to read poems, theirs, of course, and to remember that poets are real people, often ordinary people, who respond to existence descriptively, as existence can be seen even if no one else sees existence that way, and accordingly, poets then are makers of worlds, architects who offer additional ways of building who often answer questions with more questions. Open doors and let poets in, sometimes, look in mirrors, out windows, observe how things interact! and other things may be poets also, rivers, mountains, lakes, even piles of rubbish, bids and their sublime arabesques of flight —depends on how its seen and possibilities, roads that emerge or try to. Attempt. We poets keep making poems out of a love of making them, not because it is a vehicle to wealth, other than forms of wealth made available by senses, a poet’s tools as well as the mind.
