What is the difference between rabi and kharif crops?
Rabi crops
- Crops which are grown in winter season starting from the month of October and harvested around in April are called rabi crops.
- They are also called 'Spring harvest' or 'winter crops'.
- Examples - Wheat, gram, peas etc.
Kharif crops
- Crops which are grown in rainy season starting from the month of June and harvested around October.
- They are also called 'Autumn harvest' or 'monsoon crops'.
- Examples - Paddy, cotton, maize etc.
