Answer:

Sum = x

Rate = 10%

Time = 5

SI: 150

SI = (P*R*T)/100

or, 150 = (x .  10 . 5)/100

or, 150 = 1/2. x

or, 150*2 = x

or, x = Rs. 300

Solution:-

\textsf{\textbf{\red{Let \: the \: principal \: be \: P}}}

S.I = A – P

S.I = 300 – P

Amount = Rs.300

Rate = 10%

Time = 2 years

\boxed{\bf{\red{S.I=\frac{PRT}{100}}}}

300 - P \:  = P \times 10 \times  \frac{2}{100}  \\  \\ ⟹300 - P =  \frac{20P}{100}  \\  \\⟹ 30000 - 100P = 20P \\  \\ ⟹30000 = 20P + 100P \\  \\⟹ 30000 = 120P \\  \\ ⟹P =  \frac{30000}{120}  \\  \\ ⟹P = 250

Therefore,the sum is Rs.250
