in July 1789 this fortress prison was dimolished

1) on the morning of 14 July 1789,the city of paris was in a state of alarm

2) the king had commanded troops to move in the city of paris

3) rumours spread that he would soon order the army to open fire on the citizens

4) some7000 men and women gathered in front of the town hall and decided to form people's Militia

5) they broke into a no of institutions in search of arms

6) a group of several hundred people marched towards the eastern part of the city and stormed the fortress prison-the Bastille

7) in the armed fight that followed the commander of the Bastille was killee and the prisoners released

8) the Bastille was hated by all because it was the despotic power of the king
