In the lesson Journey by night,Sher Singh,a twelve year old boy had carried his younger brother Kunwar all the way to a hospital in Kalaghat which was 50 miles away from Laldwani village in the absence of his father, Sher Singh Bahadur.

To reach Kalaghat,Sher Singh had to pass through a jungle, cross two river and then reach Kalaghat.During his journey,he encountered wild animals like-a cobra with deadly poisin in its fangs,a herd of wild elephants with a Tusker, which could have killed Sher Singh and Kunwar. He also saw the foot prints of a bear and a tiger and got scared.

And when it was time to cross the furst river,it was icy cool as a glacier had melted and filled the rivers. He crossed the first river safely. When it was the time to cross the second river, which was deeper than the first river and it also had a bridge connecting both the shores,a huge uprooted tree came along with the water and broke the bridge, which was the only way to cross the bridge. So Sher Singh tied Kunwar to himself with a rope made out of grass, and carefully crossed the river despite all the odds and reached the other bank of the river.

Then he took a lift to Kalaghat hospital where Kunwar was admitted and was doing good. The doctor addressed Sher Singh as Sher Singh Bahadur for his bravery of bring Kunwar alone all the way to Kalaghat from Laldwani village...................

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU......
