2. The company needed money as: * to purchase goods and export them. * to run the administration. * to maintain an army and to fund numerous wars being fought both in India as well as abroad.
This system of revenue collection was failed because many zamindars were unable to pay the revenue to the company.
3. Peasants borrow money from moneylenders to pay land revenue.The britishers introduced a revenue system in which peasants have to pay high amount of land revenue or their land will be taken away from them.The zamindars were made land lords.they used oppressive method to collect land revenue and force the peasants to borrow money from moneylenders.
