Activity 1:

In a solution of CuS04, place an iron nail. Observe for a few minutes. The solution changes from blue to green, as FeS04 is formed, and a brown-red deposit of Cu will be visible on the nail. This shows that iron is more reactive than copper, as iron has displaced copper from a compound of it's salt copper sulfate.

CuS04 + Fe --> FeS04 + Cu

This doesnt work the other way round ( ferrous sulfate and copper)
