Answer:
An example of a renewable natural resource that is being depleted is the tropical rain forests of the world. Two primary examples would be in the Amazon rain forest of South America and the rain forests of South East Asia and more specifically in Indonesia. Several factors have led to the depletion of these renewable resources; but primarily they are depleted by wide scale logging whether for sale of the hardwoods or for agriculture expansion. Much of this is done illegally. In Indonesia, for example, most of the deforestation takes place to expand palm oil plantations. By doing some food product research one can understand that numerous products from candy, to shampoo, soap, margarine, cookies, and even ice cream contain palm oil. Measures to overcome this problem could be finding alternative foo additives that come from more sustainable practices and education so that more people are aware of the impact simply by consuming so many products containing palm oil.
