Bimbisara, (born c. 543—died 491 bce), one of the early kings of the Indian kingdom of Magadha. ... Bimbisara built the city of Rajagriha, famous in Buddhist writings. He was succeeded on the throne by his son Ajatashatru, who murdered his father to obtain power.Ajatashatru, also known as Kunika, was the son of Bimbisara. ... Explanation:

Ajatashatru:-

Ajatashatru (Sanskrit: Ajātaśatru, Pāli: Ajātasattu;[6] 492 to 460 BCE or early 5th century BCE[7]) was a king of the Haryanka dynasty of Magadha in East India. He was the son of King Bimbisara and was a contemporary of both Mahavira (Nigantha Nataputta) and Gautama Buddha. He forcefully took over the kingdom of Magadha from his father and imprisoned him. He fought a war against Vajji, ruled by the Lichchhavis, and conquered the republic of Vesali.

Bimbisara:-

Bimbisāra (c. 558 – c. 491 BC[2][3] or during the late 5th century BC[4]) also known as Seniya or Shrenika in the Jain histories[5][6] was a King of Magadha (r. 543 – 492 BC[7] or c. 400 BC[8]) and belonged to the Haryanka dynasty.[9] He was the son of Bhattiya.[10] His expansion of the kingdom, especially his annexation of the kingdom of Anga to the east, is considered to have laid the foundations for the later expansion of the Maurya Empire.[11]
