This is day when, Holika goes in fire with prahalaad. prahalaad is in religion and a very religious boy. Holika gets a boon having not effected by fire, when she puts him and sit down in fire then she converts into tiny particles, and prahalaad is not effected. from then, this festival is celebrated as winning of righteous form evil mknds.
