Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x + 2y = (-1)  equation 01

2x - 3y = 12  equation 02

multiply equation 01 by 2,

then we get,

2x + 4y = ( - 2) equation 03

add equation 02 and 03

2x - 3y + 2x + 4y = 12 + ( -2)

          y                 =  10

by substituting y = 10 to equation 01

  x + 20 = ( - 1) - 20

      x      =  (-21)

Answer:

x = 3 , y = -2

Solution:

Here ,

The given equations are :

x + 2y = -1 -----(1)

2x - 3y = 12 --------(2)

From eq-(1) , we have ;

=> x + 2y = -1

=> x = -1 - 2y -------(3)

Now ,

Putting x = -1 - 2y in eq-(2) , we get ;

=> 2x - 3y = 12

=> 2(-1 - 2y) - 3y = 12

=> -2 - 4y - 3y = 12

=> -4y - 3y = 12 + 2

=> -7y = 14

=> y = 14/-7

=> y = -2

Now,

Putting y = -2 in eq-(3) , we get ;

=> x = -1 - 2y

=> x = -1 - 2(-2)

=> x = -1 + 4

=> x = 3

Hence ,

x = 3 , y = -2
