2x+3y=8 ________(1)

4x+4y=12

x+y=3___________(dividing by 4)

x=3-y____________(2)

substituting x=3-y in equation (1),we get

2(3-y)+3y=8

6-2y+3y=8

y+6=8

y=8-6

y=2____________(3)

substituting y=3 in equation (2),we get

x=3-y

x=3-2

x=1

thus,(x,y)=(1,2) is solutions of given system

Solution:

2x+3y=8 ----(1)

4x+4y=12

Divide each term by 4 ,we get

=> x+y=12

=> x = 12 - y -----(2)

substitute (2) in equation (1),

we get

=> 2(12-y)+3y=8

=> 24-2y+3y=8

=> 24+y=8

=> y = 8-24

=> y = -16

put y = -16 in equation (2), we get

x = 12 - (-16)

=> x = 12 + 16

=> x = 28

Therefore,

x = 28 , y = -16
