Hi ,

( 2 + x ) ( 7 - x ) /( 5 - x )( 4 + x ) = 1

( 2 + x ) ( 7 - x ) = ( 5 - x ) ( 4 + x )

14 - 2x + 7x - x² = 20 + 5x - 4x - x²

14 + 5x = 20 + x

5x - x = 20 - 14

4x = 6

x = 6 /4

x = 3/2

I hope this helps you.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

 \frac{(2 + x)(7 - x)}{(4 + x)(5 - x)}  = 1 \\  \\ now \: cross \: multiply \: this \\  \\ (2 + x)(7 - x) = (4+ x)(5 - x) \\  \\ 14 - 2x + 7x -  {x}^{2}  = 20 - 4x + 5x -  {x}^{2}  \\  \\ 14 - 2x + 7x -  {x}^{2}  - 20 + 4x - 5x +  {x}^{2}  = 0 \\  \\  - 6 + 4x = 0 \\  \\ 4x =   6\\  \\ x =  \frac{ 6}{4}  \\  \\ x = 1.5
