x + y = 14 (1)

x - y = 4

x = 4 + y (2)

by substitution method ..put eq (2) into eq (1)

4 + y + y = 14

4 + 2y = 14

2y = 14 - 4

y = 10 / 2

y = 5

take eq(1) and subsitute the value of y.....

x + y = 14

x + 5 = 14

x = 14 - 5

x = 9.

hope it's help ✌✌
