Given ,
2x + y = 5
=> y = 5 - 2x -----( 1 )
3x - y = 5 ---( 2 )
Substitute ( 1 ) in equation ( 2 ) , we get
3x - ( 5 - 2x ) = 5
=> 3x - 5 + 2x = 5
=> 5x - 5 = 5
=> 5x = 5 + 5
=> 5x = 10
=> x = 10/5
=> x = 2
Now , put x = 2 in Equation ( 1 ), we get
y = 5 - 2 × 2
=> y = 5 -4
=> y = 1
Therefore ,
x = 2 , y = 1
