2^y + 2^y + 2^y = 1536

=> Let 2^y = x

=> x + x + x = 1536

=> 3x = 1536

=> x = 1536/3 = 512

So , x = 2^y = 512

=> 2^y = 512

=> 2^y = 2^9 ............. [ as , 2^9 = 512 ]

=> y = 9 .......... [ When bases are equal , exponents are equal ]

so , Answer is y = 9.
