2 years ago, my age was 47 times the age of my son then. 6 years ago, my age was twice the
square of the age of my son then. Find the present age of my son.​

ATQ

47(x-2) = y-2

47x - 94 = y - 2

47x - 92 = y --- (1)

2 × (x-6)^2 = y - 6

2 × (x^2 + 36 - 12x) = y - 6

2x^2 + 72 - 24x = y - 6

2x^2 + 78 - 24x = y ----- (2)

Equating 1 and 2

47x - 92 = 2x^2 + 78 - 24x

71x = 2x^2 + 170

By hit and trial method we find the value to be 33 years approximately.
