2 years ago the age of kamla was 4 times the age of her daughter ,3 years hence kamla will be 3 times as her daughter .find the present age of both?

Let present age of kamla is x and the present age of daughter is y.
Before 2 years ,x-2 and y-2
x-2=4(y-2)...equ 1
after 3 years,x+3 and y+3
x+3=3(y+3) ....equ 2
equ 1=x-2=4y-8
=x-4y=-8+2
=x-4y=-6
equ 2=x+3=3y+9
=x-3y=9-3
=x-3y=6
Subtracting both the equation,
-y=-12
y=12
x=6+36=42
Thus kamla age is 42 and her daughter age is 12.
